Finally, Accufab, Inc. has developed some easy to use 4.6/5.4, 4V secondary gears that are very strong and don't add time to the degreeing process like those 9 keyway versions. These are made of 8620 steel and are dual process heat treated to ensure a long life and the capability to endure the most harsh operating envirements. All dimensions are held to significantly tighter tolerances to control cam timing accuracy. .001 maximum runout ID to gear tooth root. +/- 5 degrees adjustability on intake cam timing. The tighter clearances reduce runout and help maintain proper cam timing while also lessening vibration. Fits all stock and aftermarket secondary timing chains available. Fits all stock and aftermarket cam cores. Fits factory stock secondary tensioners and Accufab aftermarket secondary chain tensioners.
The geared key is for the exhaust cam while the keyless gear is for the intake. The kit includes keys for the intake gears that are 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 degrees offset. This allows for advancing and retarding up to 5 degrees in 1 deg increments. Unlike the 9 keyway gears (4 deg adv/ret), these do not require secondary and primary gear removal to adv/ret the intake intake cams which saves a great amount of time.
